How much a tattoo costs?

Disclaimer: the prices mentioned on this article can variate from one artist to another, as everyone is different and charges differently! This is intended as a guide for you to get a rough idea of what to expect when asking for a quote :)

To be honest when it comes to tattoos, you will get a different answer depending where you go, as you are not only paying for the artist’s skill but everything else involved in the process. In Australia, you will find that some artists will price your tattoo depending on the style and complexity of the design, size and placement as a whole, but we have found that the majority of artists base this or charge around $200 per hour, with a minimum of $100 for something very tiny, and somewhere between $1.000-$1.200 for a full day of tattooing.

Yes, there are plenty of people tattooing out there that will charge very little, but our recommendation is that you look for quality over price, and be willing to do a little research of the work that the artist has done previously, never haggle over the price of a tattoo because it is disrespectful! Think of it this way: This is a piece of art you'll wear for life!
